Chelsea has regained a three-point lead in the Barclays Women’s Super League by winning 3-1 against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea strengthened their position at the top of the table, securing a three-point lead as Lauren James scored three goals in the 3-1 victory over Manchester United. James netted twice in the early stages, with Hayley Ladd responding before halftime following a well-coordinated effort by Geyse and Lucia Garcia.

Despite a determined effort by Ladd to equalize, goalkeeper Hannah Hampton thwarted her, and James secured the victory with another goal in the 85th minute.

Manchester City staged a comeback to defeat Liverpool 5-1 and secure the second spot in the table, edging ahead of Arsenal on goal difference.

Taylor Hinds initially gave Liverpool a brief lead with a long-range shot that caught Khiara Keating off guard. However, Gemma Bonner unintentionally diverted Esme Morgan’s cross into her own net, equalizing the score. Khadija Shaw seized possession from Liverpool’s attempt to play from the back and scored, putting City in the lead. Shaw secured her second goal just before the end of the first half, heading in Chloe Kelly’s cross, which the goalkeeper could only parry into the net via the post. A goalmouth scramble resulted in Shaw completing her hat-trick with a backheel, and later, Chloe Kelly converted from the penalty spot after Tegan Micah fouled Lauren Hemp.

Tottenham joined Manchester United and Liverpool on the same points tally by winning a thrilling seven-goal match against West Ham. Grace Clinton created space on the edge of the box to score the opening goal for Spurs. West Ham equalized when Risa Shimizu found the net from Riko Ueki’s cross, despite a tackle by Ashleigh Neville. Although Beth England missed a great chance for Spurs, they went into halftime leading, with Celin Bizet turning in a perfectly-weighted ball from Clinton.

Clinton scored her second early in the second half, despite Mackenzie Arnold’s complaints about interference from Amy Turner. The 3-1 lead was erased as Vivianne Asseyi scored from close range, and Amber Tysiak headed in a Kirstie Mewis free kick to level the score. However, Jess Naz secured a fourth goal for Spurs.

Brighton climbed two positions to eighth in the standings by securing a victory against Bristol City in the dying moments of added time. Elisabeth Terland put Brighton in the lead just after the half-hour mark with a shot from outside the box. Despite Abi Harrison leveling the score for Bristol City 10 minutes into the second half, Brighton swiftly regained the lead as Terland provided an assist to Katie Robinson. Carrie Jones managed to score City’s second equalizer with seven minutes remaining in regular time. However, Terland sealed the win with her second goal in the 95th minute.
