On Sunday afternoon, Everton looked to further distance themselves from the relegation zone with a win against Chelsea.
The Toffees took the lead in the 54th minute thanks to midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure before youngster Dobbin scored his first Premier League goal to seal a vital 2-0 win for Everton.
After scoring, 20-year-old Dobbin sprinted towards the touchline before doing a knee slide in front of a jubilant Goodison Park crowd.
Everton boss Dyche was asked about Dobbin’s celebration during his post-match interview, he said to Sky Sports: “Absolutely delighted, it was a strange kind of game, tough for him as a young player.
“For him to score his goal, the authenticity of his reaction to scoring a goal was so pleasing.”
Dyche added: “No silly dances or all this nonsense that everyone gets up to in my opinion now.
“A group of people working very hard for the result, he runs towards the corner, you watch the team, everyone runs over in a very authentic manner just to enjoy the moment and I’m absolutely delighted for that and the team to get involved with that.”
Speaking about the performance of his team, Dyche told the BBC: “The biggest thing for me is finding different ways to win matches. Today we have had to fight against a really good side.
“We were going along well [before points deduction] and our form all season has been pretty good. We had to work very hard. Maximum effort from the players has got us the win.”
He continued: “The thing for me is the squad mentality. It’s not just about the starting XI. The people outside the starting XI have been a credit to themselves.”
Everton will be back in Premier League action next weekend when they travel to Turfmoor to face Dyche’s former side, Burnley on Saturday evening.
